Popular places to visit whilst staying at Triscombe Farm, as recommended by our guests. 2024-07-27T14:59:13+01:00

Tropiquaria WildLife Park, Washford Cross, Watchet TA23 0QB

A former “Art Deco” radio transmitter  station built in 1933, which now houses a Reptile Hall, Nocturnal House and Aquarium in one of the most unique zoos or wildlife parks in the country. Outside there are 4 acres of animal enclosures, as well as two life size  pirate ships and an adventure castle for children to play on.

Highly recommended to us: ” A fabulous family day out with many different reptiles and animals to see. The friendly zoo keepers are very knowledgeable & loved to share their knowledge chatting. There are timetabled talks and events too. There were lots of opportunities to get up close to the animals and see them being fed. The gift shop is packed with something for everyone, young or old. Our favourite experience was the reptile house where birds fly overhead. Children love the pirate ships and fort to play on. With a cafe and indoor play area too, we definitely recommend anyone with a family to visit”

Exmoor Zoological Park, The Home of The Exmoor Beast!

Exmoor Zoo, a conservation centre in north Devon which developed from Exmoor Bird Gardens, opened on the site of a farm in 1982. The current owners took over in 1993, have developed and made the zoo larger and now specialise in the conservation of smaller animals. The zoo has been a member of BIAZA, the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, since 1995 and recently became a member of EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums) in 2018.

“We had a lovely time at Exmoor Zoo with the kids. As we explored, there were lots of different animals & wildlife to see. The animal enclosures are numbered and the map is easy to follow, so you don’t miss seeing anything. The big cats were amazing, the noisy howler monkeys were our favourite; it was great to watched them play, enjoying themselves. The gift shop has a lot to choose from, from fridge magnets to teddies and there is something for every budget. Hot & cold food is served in the cafe, the kids loved playing on the play area outside. Highly recommend a visit to other families. We will definitely be returning very soon”
